This variety is a strong, vigorous bush with excellent dense, glossy dark green foliage. The foliage acts as a foil to the huge, magnificently formed yellow blooms. The blooms which are often 6ins across and have 35 petals, last particularly well when picked and are beautiful at all stages of development from bud to full bloom. The huge blooms are perfect subjects for the exhibition bench. The first flush is a little later than most varieties, a bonus that extends the spring flowering season, and the flower production is excellent for the rest of the season. A particularly healthy variety which is an ideal rose for cutting with a lovely fragrance.
The World Federation Of Rose Societies entered Elina into the Society's Rose Hall Of Fame in 2006 an honour shared with just 15 other roses: Knock Out (2018), Cocktail (2015), Sally Holmes (2012), Graham Thomas (2009), Pierre de Ronsard (2006), Bonica (2003), Ingrid Bergman (2000), New Dawn (1997), Just Joey (1994), Pascali (1991), Papa Melland (1988), Double Delight (1985), Iceberg (1983), Fragrant Cloud (1981), Queen Elizabeth (1979) and Peace (1976).
