This was the first Noisette to be sold to the public and is still highly regarded by rose gardeners. It is one of the American Noisettes and started life in South Carolina. Loosely double, perfectly formed blush pink blooms open from dark pink buds. The dainty petals are supported on glossy, green foliage and have a perfume that many declare is strongly clove-like. It is often seen on pillars or as a hedge. The rose, which is vigorous and healthy and continues to bloom into autumn, doesn't mind a bit of light shade. One of our favourite old fashioned climbers.
