Roy Shepherd was an eminent rose historian who died in 1962, and it is fitting that his inspiration lives on in this remarkable variety.
It produces large, pale yellow flowers with only a few petals which open up like saucers, showing dark interesting stamens.
The blooms look quite frail but they are extremely tough and will withstand all weathers
Dead heading regularly always helps to promote more blooms.
A lovely rose for any mixed border as the colour does not seem to clash with any other colour.
A strong healthy bush with light green foliage which has good disease resistance.
One of the nicest shrub roses available today.
Scented.

Bred in the USA.

Awards: American Rose Society Gold Medal 1958.
Horticultural Society Award Of Garden Merit 1993.
