Rosa Buff Beauty
This beautiful and ever popular sweetly scented Buff Beauty rose has large clusters of lovely buff yellow-apricot blooms. Rosa Buff Beauty has medium sized, semi double blooms with a light tea rose fragrance. It has a long flowering period with blooms produced from summer will into the autumn. Glossy dark green foliage has slight purple tints.
A very versatile shrub as it will be happy planted in the garden or in a large pot, will tolerate poor soil and partial shade. It can even be grown as a short climber reaching a height of up to 5ft (1.5m).
A tough and reliable rose, it is extremely hardy with an excellent health record. Also does well in shaded spots. Every garden should have a Buff Beauty rose.
Thought to have been bred by the Rev Joseph Pemberton but introduced for sale in the UK by Ann Bentall in 1939, some thirteen years after Pemberton's death.
Awards won by Buff Beauty: Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit, 1993.
