White Roses

White roses are some of the oldest rose bushes available and are what we often think of when we think of old fashioned roses, or old English roses. An example of a 19th century rose would be “Little White Pet” which has clusters of small white pom pom blooms with a slight pink tinge. The blooms are ideal for cutting and it has a pleasing scent making it popular with gardeners and growers alike.

For a superb performer “Maid of Honour” is hard to look past as it was a Gold Standard Award Winner in 2009. With delicate pale pink five petal flowers and an attractive gold stamen it is a very feminine plant. Another Gold Standard Award Winner is the splendid shrub rose “Parky” that produces pure white blooms from June to late September.

The purity of white rose bushes means they are a popular selection and can really help to brighten up a garden and add a touch of elegance. “Boule de Neige” is a lovely old shrub that dates back to 1867 and has full pure white flowers with a honey shade centre. And because it is shade tolerant and can be grown in a container it is the perfect match for any garden.

If you would like to see our roses in person then why not come and visit our nursery. We are located in the stunning Shropshire countryside in the village of Hadnall just outside Shrewsbury. As well as over 900 roses we also have a selection of other plants to choose from. We also have a country garden tea room which serves a range of snacks, light lunches, afternoon teas and a full range of hot and cold drinks.
